Local Spring Break Activities, Camps, and Programs

Although many of us are just getting settled back into the routine after the holidays, Spring Break will be here sooner than you think.

Our area offers many incredible options for local activities or week-long camps.

We have created this list of local programs and activities so you and your children can enjoy a wonderful spring break.

It is also a great time to schedule a visit to Jungle Roots Children Dentistry and Orthodontics where your child will experience a unique jungle-themed adventure.

ZooLights

Kyrene School District

The Kyrene School District offers enrichment academies, full-day programs, and trips during school breaks and holidays for children three years old through eighth grade. Preschool (age 3 - 5) and Kids Club (K - 5th Grade) Non-School Days provide the same safe, high-quality activities as the school day program and include a daily special activity. Kids Club also features an exciting on-site event and a field trip to a fun local destination.

Adventure Tours is a special program for Grades 3 - 8. In this program, students get to board a bus and experience different places in Arizona.

If you sign up before March 2, you will save $10 per day for each child in the Preschool or Kids Club programs. Click Here for more information on registering for any of these programs.

PHXPlays Spring Break Program @ Pecos

This program runs daily from Monday, March 9 through Friday, March 13 at the Pecos Community Center. Children who are 6 - 12 years old will enjoy structured, age-appropriate activities that include sports, games, arts and crafts, and entertainment.

YMCA Spring Break Program

Some YMCA locations offer out-of-school days programs for members and non-members. Your child will enjoy group games, STEM projects, special activities, presentations, and more! You can register for the entire week and some locations allow you to register for individual days. Spots are still available, but registration ends March 2, so be sure not to miss the deadline! Engineering for Kids of Phoenix Metro

Engineering for Kids has partnered with Urban Air Ahwatukee, Uptown Jungle Fun Park, Sky Zone NE Phoenix, and Val Vista Academy to offer full-day or half-day camps during spring break. Each location will provide a unique STEM curriculum, including Lego Robotics, Sphero, Vex IQ Competitive Robotics, Cubelet Bot Builder, and Hot Wheels: The Science of Speed. You can sign your kids up (ages 5 – 14) for the entire week or a single day drop-in, and extended care is also available.

A Museum

The IDEA Museum in Mesa has a full or half-day Spring Wondercamp for children who are 6 – 12 years old. This camp features many imaginative activities such as construct bridges to transport hexbugs between islands on Wonderland, explore energy sources and build a solar oven, make story cubes with a special guest artist, and create a character to screen print onto a canvas bag.

The Idea Museum is also a great place to visit for a few hours. Geared toward kids aged 0 – 12, your whole family can enjoy the fun, hands-on activities in the exhibitions. The Museum is open Tuesday – Sunday, and admission is $9 for everyone age 1 and up.

Daily Activities:

The Crayola Experience at Chandler Fashion Square

The Crayola Experience in Chandler is a unique place to bring your kids. Children can customize and name a crayon, design a personalized coloring page, create a ring, critter, or even a special character out of crayon wax, stomp, kick and play on an interactive floor, and enjoy many more fun activities! Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, and they are open until 8 p.m. on Saturdays. General admission tickets are $15.99, or $14.99 if you purchase online. The Blast Off Bronze Annual Pass is a great deal if you plan to go more than once a year. It is $29.99 per person, and you get a discount when you purchase 3 or 4.

Arizona Museum of Natural History

The AZ Museum of Natural History is always a great place for kids. It features a paleo dig pit, an exploration station, hands-on puzzles, and many exhibits including dinosaurs, native peoples and cultures, and Arizona Through Time. If your children like dinosaurs this is the place for you because they created Dinosaur Hall, Dinosaur Mountain, and DinoZone with slides, tunnels, and places to hide within the exhibits. Children 2 and under are free. Admission for children 3-12 is $7, students 13+ with an ID pay $8, and adult admission is $12. The Museum is closed Mondays but is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 - 5, 11 - 5 on Saturdays, and 1 - 5 on Sundays.

Urban Air Trampoline Park

Urban Air Trampoline Park is a great place to help your kids burn some energy. Trampoline areas, a ropes course, climbing walls, sky rider, and a tubes playground are a few of the incredible activities you can find here, and a separate area is available for kids under 8. Open play is available every afternoon. Passes start at $13.99 for kids 6 and up. Passes for kids 5 and under are $8.99, and Parent Passes are $5.99.
