One of the most frequent questions we get in the office is “Does Dr. Culp take my child’s insurance?” The answer is that Dr. Culp accepts any PPO insurance plan from any company. However, we heard your feedback and are excited to announce that we are once again expanding our in-network providers and will be contracted with the following companies starting in February!
Delta Dental of AZ PPO/Premier
What does “in-network” mean? It means that a dentist is contracted with a specific company and agrees to provide dental services to subscribed members at a negotiated fee schedule. We recognize that in-network coverage is preferable and are excited to make this change to meet the needs of our patient population.
What do you do if Dr. Culp is not contracted with your dental insurance company? The majority of dental insurance plans fall into the category of PPO. This means that you may select either an “in-network” or “out-of-network” dentist to provide your dental needs. Selecting an out-of-network dentist may result in additional out-of-pocket expenses since these dentists are not under contract with your insurance company to provide services at a negotiated fee schedule. They are providing services at a “usual and customary rate” (UCR). If your dentist is not contracted with Dr. Culp, Jungle Roots would bill the UCR and your insurance would use your out-of-network benefits.
We are excited that our change to contract with more insurance companies will allow more families to use their in-network insurance benefits!
