There are all different kinds of festivals, fairs, and events happening in our backyard this summer. We’ve put together a list of the ones we think you and the whole family can enjoy together.

May 2022 Events

Where: 9744 W. Northern Ave., Peoria, AZ
Beginning in May, this popular market will take place on the third Saturday of every month through September. With over 75 local businesses, food trucks, and free live music, it will be super easy to spend an enjoyable Saturday afternoon eating, relaxing, and listening to music at the Park West Summer Market!

Where: Arizona Lutheran Academy 6036 S. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ
Support local businesses at the year’s premier arts and crafts event in Phoenix. Artisans and crafters of all stripes will be in attendance, along with food trucks, face painting, and raffles to win exciting prizes!
When: May 28, 8-11 AM
Where: Copper Sky Recreation Center 44345 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Maricopa, AZ
A great run for a great cause kicks off again as the Maricopa Memorial Day 5k run and walk is scheduled to take place Memorial Day Weekend. Held at the Copper Sky Recreation Center in Maricopa, AZ, all participants will receive a custom T-shirt and medal, and there will be awards for the top finishers in their respective age/gender categories.
All proceeds will go to benefit Maricopa Veteran's Care Center, Blue Star Mothers of Maricopa, and VETIT.

Fantasy and comic fans unite! Being held for the first time in-person in three years, Phoenix Fan Fusion will be the epicenter of all things fantasy and comic books this Memorial Day Weekend. Come dressed up as your favorite superhero, get autographs from actors who portray them on film and TV, or just revel in this fantasy spectacle with your fellow fans for what is sure to be an epic event!

Where: Participating restaurants throughout the state
Hankering for Tex-Mex? Have a yearning for tacos? Can’t wait to devour some delicious Italian food? Sponsored by OpenTable, the Arizona Restaurant Association, and the Arizona Office of Tourism, restaurants across the state will participate in this year’s Arizona Restaurant Week.
Take a look and see if your favorite restaurant is participating, or let your guard down and find something new to taste and experience!
June 2022 Events

Where: Grand Canyon University
If your child plays the piano and dreams of one day performing in front of a large crowd, then sign them up for what looks to be a once in a lifetime piano experience! The week-long event kicks off with a concert by the teachers, and the week is full of classes, recitals, workshops, and more!

Where: Glendale Civic Center
Does it get any more exciting than an entire conference center chock full of toys, both vintage and new?! The 14th Annual Arizona Toy Con kicks off on June 18th and this year the conference organizers are expecting a record turnout.
Whether you’re looking for the newest Pokémon collectible or that board game you used to play as a kid, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for at this year’s Toy Con.
Kids 10 and under get in free ($10 admission for older kids and adults).

Nothing says summer for kids more than summer camp! While most summer camps involve the great outdoors, there are other types of camps that can be just as fun and exciting.

Where: Theatre Artists Studio

The Theatre Artists Studio is a wonderful aggregator of the area’s top theatrical talent, where they put on shows and plays year-round. The highlight of their calendar, however, is the annual shorts competition. A compilation of original, 10-minute plays written by the Studio’s playwrights, there’s a delightful mix of comedy and drama that is sure to entertain!

What started out as a contest between two local fiddlers forty years ago has now turned into the country’s premiere FREE Bluegrass festival. The 41st Annual Bluegrass Festival in Prescott kicks off June 25 on the steps of the Yavapai County Courthouse, and just as it’s always been, it’s completely free to attend!
So, pack up that picnic basket, dust off that picnic blanket, and head on down with the whole family for a wonderful two days of the best bluegrass music around!

Do you have an aspiring chef in your household? Do they constantly watch the Food Network and have a picture of Gordon Ramsay on their bedroom wall? Well, even if they’re not that obsessed with cooking, but do have a passion for it, this five-day camp for 8- to 12-year-olds would be the perfect way for them to spend a week this summer!
Each day brings a new challenge in the kitchen, from pizzas to monkey bread to Chicken Chow Mein. Your little chef will be sure to come home with a laundry list of yummy things to make and eat!
July 2022 Events

Where: Mesa Convention Center
If animals with scales and cold blood are your thing, then you can’t miss this year’s Repticon! Happening July 16 and 17 (9AM– 4PM both days), come get your slithering fill by being up close and personal with some of the coolest and most exotic pet animals in the United States!

With different types of camps geared for different age groups, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix Summer Camp schedule has plenty of options to choose from. Does your tyke like gardening? August 2022 Events
When: August 10 – 14
Hosted by the Tucson Audubon Society, come learn about the amazing birds in our region like the Elegant Trogon, the Red-faced Warbler, and the Arizona Woodpecker. The event will be held at the Double Tree Hotel in Tucson, and registration opens at the end of April. You can sign up for their free e-newsletter to stay up to date.

Where: AK Chin Pavilion
One Republic is on a 40-city tour this summer, and they will grace the AK Chin Pavilion stage on August 21. Known for their awesome live shows and hits songs like Counting Stars and Sunshine, this will be a concert you won’t want to miss!
